Is my switch over valve not functioning correctly?I switched the valve over to the full tank, took off the empty propane cylinder, and noticed it leaking out the unhooked pipe. My dealer says this is normal......So what's the point of a valve if you can't run on one cylinder while filling the other?Any advice? Thanks,Leaking in Dayton

I have a dual tank set up on one of our trailers and our home. In both instances, when the valve is manually turned to one tank or the other, the other tank's line is not charged. I have no leakage from the open line. On my house's regulator, an automatic change over valve misfunctioned. It is supposed to automatically change to the other tank when one gets low. We ran out of gas, even with a second full tank. The regulator assembly was changed and we have had no further problems.

You're not suppposd to switch the valve until you've installed the recently refilled tank if I'm not terribly mistaken. If the indicator is red, the lever is pointing to the empty bottle. Refill bottle, flip lever, process starts again.
