Were trailer tires ever manufactured with white walls?  I often see trailers for sale that say, "Tires in good condition," and they have white wall tires on them.  I am thinking this probably means they either have passenger tires or really old tires or both on them.  Just curious to know if anyone knows this to be a fact.  It would be a good thing to know to be able to immediately disregard trailer ads with white wall tires, if you weren't interested in buying new tires.  The ancient set of tires on my trailer were white walls.  The ad for it said, "Tires in good condition," too.  I bet they were until around the year 2000!  It, also, said the floor was in good condition, too, and I'm surprised I didn't fall through it, much less a 1200lb. warmblood!  Ah, but you live and learn!

I don't know for an absolute fact if they were used on trailers or not. I have never seen any whitewalls installed on a trailer. You didn't mention how large your trailer was. If it were small enough to use the capacity of a passenger tire, that may be your answer. You can always check the age of tires by the identification imprinted on the inside of each tire. Anything over six years old should be soon replaced, regardless of the amount of thread.

I bought a new two horse steel bumper pull in 1980 that had a set of BF Goodrich, bias ply, polyester belted, P rated whitewalls! Black trailer, whitewall tires, chrome hubcaps, black truck, etc. You get the picture!!!

These look nice!.....

They were and are depending on where you search. Use different search engines, since they have all sold out and it's hard to get what you really want with searches anymore, unless it's one of their paid sponsors. http://www.whitewalltires.com/TireChart.asp?DepartmentID=74&DepartmentName=Trailer%20Tires

Kinda pricey and no picture, but they do exist. I'm sure their are cheaper ones out there too. Could always try Farm & Fleet if all else fails. ;)

Just wanted to add, I kinda miss white walls.
