I bought a horse trailer off of eBay(that was NOT as described). This is my first adventure into the horse trailer world and it has been a steep learning curve! The advertised "good" tires turn out to be not only be passenger tires(I didn't know about such things, until I read it on HERE!), but of two different sizes. It has 2-205/70/15 and 2-215/75/15 tires. Obviously, I need new tires. What size tires should I be looking for or does it matter whether I get 205s or 215s? The spare, which has never been used, but is starting to show dry rot, is a light truck tire!
The "good" floor turned out to be so rotten, it wasn't safe to haul a dog. When I got all the plywood they had put down over the floor up, the front boards were so rotten, I was able to break enough of the end off of one, that I could just reach in and pull it out! It only took about 5 minutes to take the whole floor out! The trailer now has a brand new 2 x 8 oak floor that isn't going anywhere! Man, is that stuff heavy!

If you know the make and modal of the trailer ,then look up the trailer and see what tires are on a new one or call a dealer that has that trailer and ask them what tires are used hope this helps

Well, I hope you got a deal......because it sounds like you got an education...
Ask your tire dealer which Goodyear Marathons to put on it...

I agree with Paul. Can't beat the Goodyear Marathons for a trailer tire. Get the tire dealers opinion on size. Ask him which size is more common and go that direction. That can be important if you are on a trip and need to replace a tire.

See if you are lucky enough to still have the manufactures sticker that list the trailer weight, axles and tires. That would tell you what tire size the manufacture spec'd for the trailer.
Short of a sticker, I'd go with the larger of the two sizes (if it doesn't rub anywhere)

Unfortunately, not only do I think I paid too much for the trailer, but the Title had at some point gone missing, so it had to be titled as Homemade to be titled in VA and trailers have to be titled in VA. It isn't homemade, because you can see the spot where the manufacturer's tag USED to be. So, I have no idea what brand it might be. It is titled as a 1998, but may be older. I have seen Shoops that look a lot like it, except the side doors do not have windows in them. It is a plain two horse steel bumper pull with no dressing room, but the open area in front with two full size escape doors.

Why don't you post a picture here, I'm sure someone can get you the information you need. Sorry to hear that all this has happend. Getting a homemade title here in the good ole VA is a little trying at times. Have you contacted ebay or paypal? They are really good about protecting the buyer as well as the seller. Might be worth looking into. Good luck!
