I have seen camping trailers with a built in couch that has two layers of 3/4 inch plywood, which nest's one on top of the other. The movable one has legs that support the out side edges and the inside edges are supported by the boot box when extended. The camper had a couch type cushion and back cushion that would lay flat for the bed.

hmmm... In order to be a bed you can get some sleep on, it'd have to be about 30" wide? I would be thinking of a boot box 15" wide with a lid that had a piano hinge along the entire edge. The lid would be double thickness while closed, but when you wanted to sleep you unfold the top to create the 30" wide sleeping deck. You could either have supports alone the head and foot area under the deck, or legs to support it. You'd need a thin mattress stored someplace in the trailer that you could lay on the deck. You can't pad the lid very much or it gets in the way of opening the boot box. I had a great boot box in my old trailer and the previous owner had padded the lid. Problem was it would not stay open with that padding in the way. Check out some RV trailers to see how they do made bench seats that fold out into a bed.
