Well this is my first post on this site and I wanted to tell everyone how informative this forum is. I learned ALOT about my Valuelite Sundowner trailer but I wont go there, only to say it's being repaired right now.

I live in the Shelby North Carolina area and we ride the east coast from WV to lower SC back over to the Big South Fork area. We love wagontrains  and we have a nice pair of mules and a wagon ( you can see the pulling setup in the avatar). If any one knows of a wagon train coming up please send me some info on it. Our next scheduled ride will be the Manchester Trail ride in Sumter S.C. that kinda kicks off our riding season. We lease a spot at Love Valley in N.C. if you havent heard of it here's a link to it.

Easter is a BIG weekend at the Valley so if anyone wants to be around a crowd of horses and camping that will be the weekend to be there.

Also I just got to post a pic of my new john mule  out of my saddlebred mare.

Hope the pic link works.

Well the link didnt work so here is a link for my webshots webpage and you can see all my photos.

Very cool! Some day my mini will learn to drive. 'Course..it would help if someone would teach me. HAHA!

There's a huge wagon train in MN every June. I think a few folks from down south come up for it.

BTW...I'm in western WI...just east of St. Paul, MN. I have an Icelandic gelding and a cute mini mare. Love to trail ride and horse camp.

His name is Petie and I also believe he will be flashy he has a gait to him in the pasture. I handle this mule everyday and hes coming along fine. I put him in cross ties and check all feet touch him all over just try to get him use to all kinds of contact. The clippers will be next not sure how he will handle that.

Also will be hobble training in the near future. Then comes the harnesses.

I use to be all about gaited horses but since I bought my first mule 4 years ago every thing I do is about the mules now. In my opionion the mules are smarter than horses and have a better disposition, no feet mainentance " we dont shoe or trim any of the mules they wear down perfect in the pasture" and when shoeing cost $75.00 per horse thats a big savings.

I did a week long ride in Missouri back in '02 and they allowed us to try out several Fox Trotters the first day to see which one we wanted to ride for the week.  My favorite was a gaited mule!  He was fantastic!  He gaited faster than any of the horses, would go anywhere, easiest to catch in the morning, and I just loved watching those big ol ears flopping away while we were riding.  He was wonderful, but not for sale!  I kept trying to figure out ways to smuggle him home...  I have a SSh, but if and when I can have 2, my next one will be a gaited mule.

Yea years ago it was pretty rowdy but now its a family setting. Just alot of horse people doing horse things. Halloween is kinda cool when people dress up along with their horse and ride around town.

Good place to take young horses they can experence it all up there, wagons, buggies, people riding steers and some on cows, crowded main street with horses tied on both sides, creeks, mts, roads with  slow moving cars. There is any kind of riding that you could want, easy to very difficult all around fun place to go.
