Any suggestions, plans,  or pictures for building (or buying) a skid plate to protect the plumbing on a LQ (Platinum 3 horse)? Thanks in advance.

The dealer I bought from just fabricated a flat plate and attached (welded) to hangers. I can't imagine that any good welding shop couldn't do something like that for you.

Are you protecting the dump valves or all of the holding tanks along with the dump assemblies?

My tanks are tucked up inbetween the floor joists so they should be ok, I was worried about the discharge plumbing and dump valves. Does anyone have any pictures so I can show my welding guy? Thanks

My Logan came with a skid plate around/under the dump valves.  I'll take pictures and get them out to you shortly.

Attached is a picture of the skid plate around my dump valves.  Looks like just plain-ole flat iron to me.  Let me know if you have any questions.

I bought an  EBY in CO and took it back to the factory in PA and had them make me one.  Since I could not $$ to have one custom and raised ect.

I have, however, bent it on RR tracks already.  Don't go that way any more!

Glad to help!  If you have a Logan dealer near you, you might see if they have any LQ models in stock as my Logan came with the skid plate from the factory.  You could check one out in person.

It needs to be sturdy. Remember, you are asking it to be able to skid most of the trailer's weight over a bump. Most I've seen crumple when they are actually needed, or it is waay to heavy to be practical. 400# of steel isn't exactly a pretty sight under an aluminum trailer. Nor cheap.

Yep, most that I've seen look like they wouldn't hold up to more than a slight drag on the ground without being squished. Also, how do you attach one on there, some pics of attachment would be nice from those of you who have a skid.

Mine is welded to the frame cross pieces and to the frame overhead.
