Thinking of setting up a rig with a Suburban or an Excursion to haul a 14,000 5th wheel toy box. Does anybody own or use a Tow Buddy and have you had it off-road?

I have a tow buddy that I use around the dealership to move 5th wheels and horse trailers. I havent had it off road but I really dont see a problem with going off road the most important thing is making sure your hitch is rated for 14,000 lbs. I havent heard any negative comments from my customers who have purchased the tow buddy from me. They all say it takes a little getting use to but after that they have been very happy.

Thank you for your response. Have you set anyone up with a tow buddy on a suv?
We have been told by Tow buddy were over the GVW with this rig set up we are thinking of doing, and they wouldn't recommend it. Mabe just cta. But I don't see the difference between a 3/4 ton truck that is rated high enough and a 3/4 ton suv, if they have the same brakes and the same tonnage rating (3/4). With the correct hitch rated for the trailer, if anything I would thing weight distribution would be better in a suv. The Tow buddy has way more than enough GVW. I don't have much chose as we need the people space for 8 and a 4 door tuck will only get me 5 or 6 at an uncomfortable squeeze.
I guess we have decided that for the 3 maybe 4 times a year, I'll be using the rig with the trailer, extra payer will be in order. Worst case, if we are too uneasy with the ride or handling and it doesn't work out, I’ll be looking for a buyer and selling a 2002 5th and a near new tow buddy. We'll be looking for a smaller tow behind toy box.

Suburban 2500 towing capacity is 10,500 pounds and that is BEFORE you add passengers and equipment...puts you 3500 pounds OVER...
