Is there a certain type of cable I need to connect my tv to my on the roof antana? There a basic cable there, I've hooked up, like what you connect to our in house cable. But there's also a large plug spot about the size of your thumb above where this cable is ran.
I'd like to be able to get local channels for news etc, at some places I over night.
Any ideas, there aren't any RV or trailer places close to me, so I'm online shopping.

The regular co-ax cable is the same as what you use in the house. That thumb-size "spot" is a 12 volt (cigarette lighter type) of power plug. Some TVs have both AC & 12 volt plugs. With a 12 volt plug, you don't need electric hookup or a generator while at camp.

You might want to install a signal booster. You can buy one from Radio Shack. The booster helps bring in TV channels when you are camping in remote locations, especially in areas that are hilly and forested.

I have an antana on the roof, it's just the middle that's not working or is missing. I hook the coaxe cable to the tv and I can't get any local stuff, and I know there's local to pick up.
Going to try to hook up rabbit ears and see what I get.

Be sure you've turned it on. I have the same type of plug and mine has a tiny (and I mean about twice as big as a pencil lead tiny) black button that you have to press in to turn it on. When it's on a green light is lit.
