I am on a waiting list for an RV spot for a show later this summer, and in case I don't get a hookup looks like I'll be generator shopping. I'll probably be using the generator mainly for recharging my RV batteries. How long will I have to run the generator each night to recharge my batteries (roughly)? Need to figure in fuel supply when shopping for a generator.
Alternatively, if I plugged the trailer into the truck and ran the truck for a while, how long would I need to run my truck to recharge my batteries?
This is a 5 day show so I'll definitely need to plan on recharging batteries at some point.

At first glance those statistics look pretty dismal, like I'd have to run a generator all night to recharge my batteries. What has everyone's real life experience been?

what will you be using your batteries for? 90% of my horse camping is dry camping (no electric pedestal).i haul with an RV and i use my batteries (bank of two) to run my water pump, lights and ...if it's cold enough the heater fan. i have to run out of "juice". i don't leaving lights running, i use only the ones that i need and shut them off as i move thru the RV.in the morning, i check my battery level, and if it's low, i run my gen for about 30-60 minutes to recharge the battery bank.did you have a battery level indicator?

It will mainly be for lights and the water pump. And the show is in the Sacramento area the end of August so I don't expect to need to run the furnace, although I might be wanting to run A/C to cool things down before going to bed (I realize that would only happen when the generator is running). I also will need to check my email so will need to recharge my laptop batteries too.
