My new horse trailer has a stud divider. I've never had one in a traielr before. This divider comes almost to the floor. Maybe 1" clearance off floor.

I've always put wood shavings in my trailers. Usually 4-5" of shavings.  Pick out the apples once a week and new shavings every month.

With this stud divider I can't pile the shavings in very deep. In fact it pretty much sweeps everything back as I open the divider and pushes it up against the front wall. So are other stud walls as close to the floor? What do you do?

Is it removable? If so and you don't really need at that time, just take it out. The one I made drags the floor alittle but I did that on purpose. I don't have to open mine very much mainly cause I use my first stall as storage. When I do it will push the shavings but I don't use that much shavings on my floor.

Thanks for the reply.

I could remove it. But it's got springs under tension that help close the panel. I'd need a special tensioning tool to reinstall the panel. So it's not something you easily pop in and out.

I know a lot of folks use the 1st stall as storage. But I haul 4 horse all the time and use all the stalls. So I'd just as soon leave it in.

Probably something I'll just have to live with.
