Has anyone heard of a horse growing and maturing much after age four?  I just bought/rescued a palomino QH mare that will be four next month.  She is only 13 hands.  I'm wonder if after she is wormed and put on a good feed and suppliment program if she might get to 14 hands.  She's a pretty thing and if nothing else, I'll train her for driving.  She's very quiet and sweet.

The only 100% answer can be given by your vet after taking knee X-rays.  You/they are looking for the "closing of the knee", or growth plate.

I can just about eyeball knees but it's been 20 years in the making.

My gut is that she's as tall as she'll get based on age and breeding.  That takes into account that they might be wrong on both counts...
