What do I need to look for when I inspect my trailer floor and where do I have to look in addition to underneath the mats? When I look underneath the mats what are the first signs of a problem with the floor?I have rubber mats with corrugated card board bedding on top on the floor. The bedding seems to absorb much better than shavings and is almost dust free.

This is what I look for; I look for darkening of the aluminum under the mats. Usually I pull the mats every couple of months and complete wash down the inside of the trailer (I use EQ Solutions Red Wash). I would also suggest that as a routine part of maitenance that you check any welds on the floor and the support structure, on most trailers this means you will need to look from underneath. Just a couple of suggestions.
