Hello trailer community,
I have a Bison 3 horse with two axles of 10" electric brakes. I have been working brake noise on this for 2 years. I have replaced all the brake parts, had the drums turned and had them professionally adjusted a couple times......and I am still getting a loud brake squeal after they are warmed up and coming to a stop. I beg any of you to send me a possible solution before I drive this thing off a cliff.......

Have you put a bit of hi temp grease wherever the brake shoes bear against the backing plate? And the actuating cam? As the brake shoes contact the drum they will vibrate. This is transmitted to the backing plate like a sounding board.

Hosspuller,
I have not tried that. Are you talking about where the brakes springs connect the shoe to the backerplate? I will be pulling those drums off yet again.
Any other ideas are also welcome. I will try anything since I'll be taking the wheels off anyway.
Thanks for the help!!!! I am praying this fix works before my wife kills me.

There will be raised areas on the back plate that the brake shoes will rest on. Those are the areas that I spread a dab of grease on.
Also, every time you take the axle nut off, use a new cotter pin or tang washer. The cost of these parts is nothing compared to losing a wheel while on the road.

Brakes squeal will happen if the conditions are right. Make sure the backing plate has silicone lube where the pads rest. Before you add the lube make sure the backing plate is clean. You should see 2 raised sections where the shoes rest for both the front and rear shoe. They should have 2 each. That is what I normally see with drum brakes.
