Any body know of a supplier that will sell retail products to convert to living quarters?  We've got a microwave, 35gallon water tank, dorm frig and threw a mattress into the GN nose.  Made my own curtains.  Mounted a boat ladder to climb up to bed.  But, would someday like to make the interior nicer without adding too much more weight.  Got a handicap porta potty, Cabelas shower shelter, generator, Mr. Buddy propane heater that is safe to use inside, 20# propane tank.  If we camp where there is electric we do have a/c with heat strip.  Be kind of hard to add very many cabinets as the short wall has a huge window that takes up most of the wall and the GN nose has windows.  At camp we move a lot of stuff to the mules' section of the trailer to give us room in the "Recovery Room".  Any ideas?  Thanks!  Mary

All the stuff in my LQ came from Home Depot or eBay.

Here's a link to my DIY album.  It's a lot easier than you think!

www.LQ.com takes me to La Quinta Inn's homepage. Is there something I'm leaving off the web address?

We have a GN stock trailer with a 4.5' short wall. The camper door is on the curbside. We insulated it and installed a used camper door for the walk thru.  We have a padded bench the width of the trailer (can nap on), a fold down wall mounted table, a 5 shelf pantry storage cabinet where microwave and TV sit when camped, a medicine cabinet and a short cabinet mounted high on the wall over the table. We can store alot in it.   Measure the space above the window and see if cabinets made for over the refrigerator will work.  Can you build a bench for under the window and put a porta potti in? Can you put a 5 shelf storage cabinet against the GN wall. I first had mine against that wall. Now it fits between the door and the slant wall and I have enough room to store the broom and a mesh laundry bag. How about a counter under the window with the dorm frig and cabinets.  Measure the wall space from your sleeper windows to the edge and see if Lowes or Home Depot has any cabinets to fit (like the odd balls that go around the built in microwaves). You can take the shelves out and hang shirts.

Like Dawnya, Most everything came from Home Depot or Lowes. The battery box I actually bought from Jazz Sales (I have a tax ID number).

I am in the process of trying to finish in the dressing room area of a metal S and H gooseneck. Just looking at doing insulation and with some wood trim, add a couple of windows to use for camping. Nothing fancy, just the basics. I ordered a window from S and H for the door, and they just could not get it right. Sent me a window and three different trim rings and none of them would work. Can anyone point me in the right direction for windows and roof vents, etc. I also tried LQ.com with no luck. Thanks

I just finished my GN tack room w/ 3' short wall - no room for living quarters but it sure turned out nice. I did the insulation, furring strips, lightweight paneling, little cupboards, etc just didn't have room to put in a sink etc. It turned out great! Supplies were from Home Depot and a local hardware store. I ended up being allergic to the PL Construction Adhesive (got hives every day!) but kept going anyway :) It was worth the trouble. http://todd.redwrench.com/index.htm
