My marker lights on my 98 S&H horse trailer are not working, but I have brake lights and turn signals. Would this be the wiring on the whole trailer or just the plug wiring? I have not inspected the wiring on the trailer yet, but the plug is kind of loose.

Well..... I think you may have seen too many westerns!!!! No horses to be found on the streets or a good saloon. Outlaws and shootouts, well, those may still be around!!

I would use a test light and check each contact on both the connections. If your test light lights up them your connections are fine and it's in the wiring. Just would have to follow the wire and see if it has a short or is cut. Could be your lights too. I've had lights get wet inside and they are done after that. Gave me an excuse to replace them with LEDs.
perfect11, you just keep watching your westerns as I'm sure, thanks to the movies, some of us Yanks have a vision of what Cheshire England looks like (jousting and knights and such)

I will do the testing on the lights, I'd forgotten we had a tester for that. About the LED lights, is that something I can put on a steel trailer myself, or do trailer people need to do it?

Shouldn't be too difficult. Depends on what type of lights that you have. Mine have the 2 little prongs on the bottom. They just pop out and you pop another in. Some I know you have to replace the base but for the most part it's 2 screws to take out, cut the 2 (or sometimes even 1) wire(s), put on 2 wire connectors to splice the wires back together on the new light and then screw the base back on. I have seen some that are riveted and that can be a pain. Good place to get them is here: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=T...
They seem to have the best prices and carry many different kinds.

Look at the bottom of the Horse Trailer World home page. You will see the words "trailer tech", under that, click on "trailer wiring". You will find it, some good info there.
