OK lets start again and not let the cat play with the key board.
Newest issue that I have got Nov 11,2006 of the Chronicle of the Horse has a article of a horse that fell out of the back of the trailer. Would like if folks can look at it and the pictures. I am seeing the bent door similar to what I have on my trailer, and many other brands. But no but bar, maybe it is just not shown here and I wonder what actually happened in the trailer? I thought that most if not all trailers have butt bars? Maybe it is my ignorance here.

Hi inWA... I have a 2 horse slant load gooseneck and there is no butt bar. I don't have the rear tack or a center post, so it'd have to be a full width butt bar. I've only seen butt bars on trailers with either the rear tack and or trailers with the center post in the back.

I have a gooseneck slant load with saddle compartment in the back that has a butt bar and a 2 horse slant load bumper pull with just one door on the back that has a butt chain and a chain across the escape door on the front.
