I'm seeing alot of these trucks for sale at good prices in my area (Oregon).  Especially  the 4x4 extended cab z71 model.  Is there something wrong with them?

No. Nothing wrong with them; they are just getting outdated. Starting in '96 GM increased the horsepower by quite a bit with the introduction of Vortec induction. Then, in '99 the body style changed and the LS-series engines again increased horsepower. The four door pickups are getting more popular. All these factors contribute to decreasing prices for early to mid '90s pickups. Personally, I think those pickups were the last decent looking vehicle made. And I would take the low rpm torque of the 350 ci engine over the new-age high revving gas engines any day.
