We're planning a trip to Brushy Creek Resort in Black, Mo. in October.  We're not purchasing the meals but are planning to eat at a restaurant they say is close.  Their web page also says you need a health certificate as well as coggins.  It's been my experience that a coggins gets you in.  Do you really need health certificates there?  Any comments on the place?

Don't know about the camp but we carry health certificates as well as coggins papers any time we are crossing a state line, just to be on the safe side.

Ditto on the health papers. We always carry them when traveling out of state.  We have been stopped by the DOT on the highway and the officer checked Coggins and health certificates on each horse.

RIDE ON!

We only live about 30 miles from there. I recently I stopped by there to get a trail map. It looks like the place is well kept. The campsites are nice and shady and level. The restaurant is within a reasonable walking distance. Let us know how you liked it. Debbie

We were there in May. We stayed in their cabins, rode their horses, and ate their food (at the resturant). We had a good time, the people were real nice. Trails were nice, lots of riding in National Forest.Camp ground is small, stalls were nice. You should enjoy it.

A warning about the roads getting there, they are narrow, curvy, and hilly. Take it easy, you will need some horse power and good brakes. Seems like their directions don't take you the best way, can't remember for sure would have to look up their website.
