Help .. we're looking at a used 1994 Exiss 3 horse GN with homemade LQ/Carrier air conditioner/awning/cowboy shower/hotwater heater/homemade shelves, etc.

Trailer seems to be in good condition and was used by a couple in their 60s. We have heard good things about Exiss, but the salesman did say the trailer would not hold up like a Sundowner would if you used it a lot. We are a little worried about the floor .. we are just not sure how well they are built.

He's asking $18,900 .. down to $18,000 now. The tires are in great shape and the outside looks pretty good. They did build a wall in the third stall for the shower, which will have to be torn out. It'll need to be cleaned up a little, too.

Anyone have any advice on Exiss/and or the price of this trailer? We're thinking more like $16,000 .. Thanks!

Here's the description on the ad:

All aluminum, 7' tall, 7' wide, drop down windows on head, folding rear tack, awning, hay rack & ladder, stud divider on first stall. 4' short wall living area has AC w/heat strip, lots of cabinets, counter top, sink, water heater, bench seat, enclosed shower in first stall. This wall can be taken out to give 3 full stalls or kept in to work as a mid-tack and shower. Great condition!!

I just bought a 1999 exiss 3Horse slant with 4' full living Quarters. Inside Full Shower and all for $15,000, mine is in excellent shape!! The Living Quarters were professionally done. The only thing mine doesn't have that that one would would be the hay rack & ladder.

As for holding up I can tell you with no disrespect to Sundowner owners, During my trailer shopping I have seen a few run down Sundowners as well as many other different brands, No matter what the brand I think it depends on who owned the trailer and did they take care of it.

Sounds a little high to Me,with this much work to do I would go around $15,000 at most.

sounds like the salesman is trying to sell you a sundowner. I hate that. if i wanted a sundowner,I'd be asking about one. The Exiss is a fine trailer. I think its a bit high- I bought a 2000 for less. I am not compairing apples to apples but overall, sounds like about the same thing. So I'd offer less....15 sounds about right. Be prepared to walk away since there are lots of good trailers out there......

There isn't anything wrong with a Exiss trailer but the one you are looking at is $15k on the high side more like $13K, I would look on this site a bunch for a trailer comparable, I think you will find better deals.

Hi,  I am with everyone else. I think that 13k to 14k would be the more in line for pride. Exiss did not make a Sport model in 1994 so I would say that the trailer is not a Sport. But that is a good thing... The trailer should have a lot heavier grade skin and the floor supports and wall supports should be closer together. It will have a good strong floor.

If it is what you want, Spend as much as would like and buy the trailer that is right for you...

Good Luck

When we got down to it, within 30 minutes he'd already dropped the price from 18,900 to 18,000 flat .. when we wanted to go even lower, he started asking if he could add anything on for us or could he throw anything in that might make us commit to that price.

I'll agree there are a lot of trailers out there, but this is only the second one we've found that suits us here lately .. we're either too late or they just want too much for them ..

guys .. I totally apologize .. I am wrong about the year .. it's a 2004, which might change things a little ..

I think they bought the stripped down model and added the interior themselves, along with the air, awning and hay rack/ladder.

With that in mind, are we still in the 15K range or more like 16?

There is a huge difference between a 1994 and a 2004.

the year does change the value but homemade LQ's don't sell very well and Exiss don't seem to hold the value like other trailers.  Look on here and compare.  It is easy to do.  Invest some time.
