I REALLY would like to have a 50ft roundpen, but just don't have the $$$$$$$$$$ to pay $800 +++ for one. I don't have anything cantancorous (Sp?) just 3 gentle horses that need schooling and some wet saddle pads. I don't want to set posts in the ground if I can keep from it. Has anyone got some original ideas for one that is economical?

Cattle panels bought at auction, try direct from fencing companies. Mine was about $400 bought from a fencing company. I have also put t-posts in a diameter/size I wanted and used fence tape. Like you, I had gentle horses and it got me by just fine for awhile. I wouldn't use anything like that with babies or anything not broke to longe though. I see where you don't want to set posts, but t-posts are fairly mobile.

I've heard of people using wooden pallets, you can get those just about anywhere pretty cheap or free. Probably could use T-posts to attach them to. However, you are better off investing in a round pen like someone suggested, some cattle panels would do the job. You really don't want a half-arse job that could get you or your horse injured.
