I know it's going to vary considerably from trailer to trailer, but does anyone have any ACTUAL pin weights for their 3H LQ trailer? Please also mention what your short wall length is, too.

My axles are pretty much centered under the three horses. If I'm towing 2, I put them in the rear and use the front stall for storage. I don't notice much difference in the truck. Of course you can see the difference when you load up the LQ with stuff. About 50% of what you put in the LQ ends up on the rear axle of the truck.

Hmmm...I guess that's something else to consider, MR176.
My wife tends to pack along ANYthing that remotely MIGHT be used.
I can see how that would load up the pin weight fast.
I was kind of hoping that these LQ trailers would be something like the RV Toyhaulers, where when you load up the rear with Quads or Bikes it actually takes weight OFF the pin- probably because the axles on those Toyhaul trailers are placed much further forward.

My Star Lite mentioned above pulls great behind my 2003 2500HD 4X4 Silverado Ext Cab, with 2 big horses, (1250 or so each) in the two back stalls, feed and other "stuff" in the first stall. Yea for aluminum trailers!I try very hard to edit the "stuff" and only take what's needed and small batches of that, even to the extreme of putting a little of each thing in a container instead of taking the whole container. That goes for everything from horse feed to people food. Every extra pound you load takes extra $$$ to pull!!!
