....Your walk through door in the slant wall, from the tack room to the stock area? Right to left (the handle on the right, the hinges on the left), or left to right?

Going from the LQ mine is hinges on the left, handle on the right, swings into horse area. You will love having a walk-thru door!!

Hi MIFarmBabe and maccwall. The reason I asked is that the trailer manufacturer is telling me they only install the door opening from LEFT TO RIGHT. (hinges on the right, handle on the left). They claim water will get into the tack room if the door opens from the right to the left (huh?). I viewed numerous pictures on this website, and they all open the way yours do: right to left. Seems if you walked into that stall, you'd want to be going towards the horse's head, not his butt.

An early morning phone discussion with the manufacturer resolved the problem. Thanks for your comments; and Reg thanks for not commenting! lol. I knew that subject line would get attention!

I can see why you would want it to swing INTO the horse compartment, wash water then drains into the horse compartment.
I can also imagine something UGLY happening if it swings with the edge towards a horse's head and (s)he spooks and tries to back out HARD !
Not that ANY hitting of a horse with a door edge is GOOD, but the one to really be avoided is the one that would dig in as a consequence of the horse's panic reaction.

I always figured the reason a walk-thru door opened into the horse area was due to the fact that if it opened into the dressing room/LQ with a horse in that first stall while in transit, I wouldn't want my horse trying to get into that area of the trailer for obvious reasons!

The walk thru door on my trailes opens left to right into the horse area.  It works out great if you want to put a cowboy shower just to the left of the door.  I talked to a guy once that had his door opening into the living quarter because he said that in case of a accident, he could open the door and get to his horses.  I really would not want one opening this way.
