Did anyone camp there during the June 2017 ride? I am looking for information on the condition of the trails, the camp and the river (we kayak, too) since the flooding earlier this spring. I know the May ride was cancelled, but it appears the June ride was held. I'm planning for the Sept ride and I know things could improve a lot by then but I need to make some decisions now. Let me know if you went and give a report, please! Thanks in advance!

Thanks AZGrulla, I am in that facebook group. I've not found any real information about the camp since it was flooded, with several barns lost, this past spring. I know they are rebuilding. I don't know if the trails suffered as well. Just looking for some firsthand info.

Has anyone tried CedarRidge Horse camp in Laquey, Mo???? Nice folks... lots of trails not too far from 4-J. I never would camp there because it looked trashy and run down AND I did not want to have to stay a week...sorry...

The 4J's camp was run down before they moved it. They knew they were going to move their campground when their lease on government land ended. They built everything new when they moved so the campground & stalls are in good condition. They changed their policy when they moved on their rates. They pro-rate so you pay from when you get there to the end of the week, so if you get there on a Wednesday, you just pay for three days.
The damage from the flood and tornado has been repaired and cleaned up and they had volunteers go out and clean up on the trails. Haven't ridden there yet, that's what I was told when I called down to make reservations.
