I am looking at buying a new trailer. My old trailer had a Collar-Lok A-Frame Coupler but the new trailers have a Cast A frame coupler (similar to what you find on boat trailers accept more heavy duty). Any thoughts on which is better to have? Any problems with trailer popping off with Cast A frame coupler? They are bulldog models.

If you want you can order a trailer with the coupler you want, might only change the price a little. I like the locking collar I've got on my Jackson 2 horse and even when the collar gets grumpy and wants to fight me I feel it's more secure than the "flip top" style. Ask your dealer if you can get a different hitch, but you want the factory to install it. Never hurts to ask.

I can see it happening that way- but at a great cost. Mfg don't generally offer various options for mundane parts like couplers or jacks.
And if you don't trust your dealer's service folks to install one, you might need another repair shop. Just my opinion.

the manufacture should have no problem installing any coupler you choose when ordering a trailer. you don't have to settle you can get what you want at a cost.
