My 1999 Featherlite makes a lot of noise on an uneven road. I found the noise comes from the attached butt bars connected to the center divider, is loose enough to move side to side and bangs into the trailer side, I can see the dent. I need some ideas to cushion that area without making it too thick so that my butt bars won't twist down out of the way, they are the curly Q ones that have to twist to go flat so the horse doesn't get tangled into them. Also, my head divider makes a lot of noise where the post goes into the ceiling. I don't know if Featherlite makes a bushing that could go there, it's just a drilled hole that the post fits into. It makes a lot of noise as well.I don't mind the noise myself, but I mind it for my horses inside the trailer as it is loud and I can hear the noise with my window down (I drive a diesel so I have some engine noise that muffles it)If anyone has some ideas, would love to hear them. Goal, quiet down that trailer!!!!!JS

Thanks Gard.. would a body shop be able to do that? Or should I take it to a trailer dealer. I need to get a different hitch for my new-to-me truck so I can go either place.

You can fabricate a butt chain yourself. A length of chain, a couple of HD snaps, two screw couplers and some pipe insulation will replace the bar. A machine shop or anyone with a lathe can turn the spacer to size for the top pin.
