Can you add a side ramp to an existing slant load trailer without compromising the frame?
I want to turn a 4 horse slant into a 2 + 1.

With enough time & money, anything is possible. This is one of those times.

A sideramp or slideout trailer will have extra reinforcement underneath and above the hole for support. So to answer your question, yes it compromises the frame, but can be accomodated if structure is added appropriately.

Thanks guys, I spoke to the fabricator and he said he could do it but his simplest soln was to add a ramp to the existing escape door as it is large enough for a horse to exit/enter. Always thought those things should have a ramp anyway in case you wanted to get the horse out in an emergency. Thanks again.
