Recently saw for sale online a complete two stall aluminum insert to fit inside the toy hauler compartment of an RV. It was well thought out in design, and looked much like the inside of any aluminum horse trailer. I don't intend to buy one or use one, but it does seem like the pros and cons of such thing would make for an interesting discussion, doesn't it?

Interesting, but look under a toy hauler and perhaps they have the spacing of the cross members at 48 inches. Both horse trailers I have are all about 40 inches. Could make for some funny floor loads I would think.

And a floor?....just how much dead weight does this unit add to your trailer?The other issue is what happens if your trailer tips over in an accident...is the complex attached in some way or is it counting on gravity?

Just looked at the ad again and don't think there actually is a floor. The ad says very little and does not mention weight. It's listed on kijiji, ad ID 554756761 for any of you who are curious. Good point about securing it and what happens in an accident. Nothing good, I would expect. Without a floor I would also wonder about containing the usual byproduct of travelling horses. I'm curious as to what kind of ventilation is in a toy hauler, too. Certainly not likely to be as many windows as on a horse trailer.

We sell both toy haulers and horse trailers. No comparison as to construction. I would never put even one horse in a cargo/toy hauler trailer, regardless of the method of confinement.
