I have a 2 horse bumper pull with a tack room up front. I want to camp with it next spring with all the comforts of home I can...LOL I have read that people say put a tarp on the ceiling so the dew doesn't drip on them? Is this always necessary or only during certain circumstances? To avoid this, what should I do? Have the roof sprayed with insulation? What other tips would you recommend to make it as comfy as possible? Went from a 6 cyl truck with a tinny tinny trailer to dodge ram with great 2 place trailer with a tack room. A little bit at a time toward reaching my dreams. I do want to camp starting next spring so do want to get as much comfort installed this winter as I can. What do you all recommend & how much did it cost to have the up grade done?Thanks for any & all tips & advice you have to offer :) ome on spring!!!

How long is the box on your truck? We used to camp with our bumperpull two horse stock trailer. Had a camper shell on pick up with 8ft box. It was very comfortable, used elect blanket in cold weather.

Any weight added to the front dressing room of a BP trailer, will directly affect the ride capacity of the towing vehicle. Most factory built BP trailers with LQs will have their axles mounted more forward, to better balance the increased frontal loading. You are also limited by the enclosed space volume and shape, with which to install your wish lists. Even when done as a DIY project, a full list of appliances and furnishings can be expensive, not counting your labour. The final product will only be as good as is your skills.
A truck camper, even a smaller 8' model, will offer more amenities and comfort than can be built within most dressing rooms, whilst applying its weight over the truck's suspension, instead of behind the axle with the trailer. There are many used campers that offer most of the conveniences you will need for camping at very reasonable prices.

We started with a camper shell, or topper as they call it in some parts of the country, and I could have the bed made up when I left home, and when I got to my camp, it was all ready. Had battery powered lights, ice chest, air mattress. Now with the memory foam, it could be even more comfy. Or, as suggested, if the truck is big eough, a truck camper. All different sizes and amenities in them.

If you use Facebook, there is a page called "Horse Trailer Conversions" where people write about modifying their tack areas into living quarters. You might pick up some good ideas on there, too.

I have used several times the foil covered insulation foam boards at Home Depot. Cut it the exact size so it fits tight in between the ribs of the roof. Then use the foil, metal tape used for duct work. Do not use Duct tape, it will fall off. The foil type tape stays on in the hot or cold. You can also spray paint it to match your trailer.

Wow, thanks for all of the great tips everyone!
The use of the insulation is one I will definitely do next spring. If you do not do something like this will the roof sweat inside?
I planned on sleeping in the horse stall part of the trailer, sweep our chips etc put a tarp down & an air mattress.
