Picked up a 2013 Ram 3500 dually automatic truck (in Everett wa)  a couple of weeks ago.  Hooked onto the Platinum trailer and went directly to Snoqualame pass.  Figured if the truck had to be "broke in" this might be the best way to do it.   I am very impressed with the power and handling of the truck.  Went up the pass over 65mph weighing some over 25,000# combined weight.  Even more impressive is how well the factory exhaust brake works.  Just set the cruze controll to the speed you want to decend and the truck does the rest.   I now have 2500 towing miles on the truck, happy on all points.  Fuel useage is just about the same as my 2004 truck was.

The 500 miles is for differentials. A diesel doesn't need a break in.

Glad to hear you like your new Dodge. Get my 3500 single axle on Monday. Great news on the gas mileage!
