Purchased a 2001 CM Norstar GN few months back. In great shape. Only problem is that is seems to bounce...a lot when pulling down the highway. Worse when empty. Shakes tack off of hooks, "rearranges" stuff in 4x8 dressing room. Stuff that is up on bed of gooseneck stays put, but everything from floor to back tack gets bounced around. Not as bad when horses are loaded, but still, stuff falls off hooks.Prob rough ride for horses too. Wondering if it's the torsion axles, or what? Tires are in great shape, so is the rest of the trailer. Any info/help would be greatly appreciated!

This doesn't sound like a "torsion axle" issue unless the axles are not square and true with the body of the trailer. You could have a bent wheel rim or two? Have you balanced the tires and wheels on the trailer?

Maybe the tow vehicle is contributing? I noticed that my trailer seems to bounce a lot more since getting a different pickup. I had a Dodge 2500 and traded that for a Ford F-350.

Yeah, I was wondering that myself, but have had this truck for years. 2001 F350 crew cab long box, only 134K miles I did not have this problem pulling my 3 horse GN slant steel trailer ( and it was old, but seemed to ride better behind my truck) Guess I need to get truck shocks, etc. checked. I just notice this trailer bounces a lot side to side when looking in rearview mirror, and like I said, stuff in front tack shifts towards slant wall, and tack falls off hooks in rear tack. But, otherwise so glad to finally have an aluminum trailer!!

We had a Ford 450 that would beat you to death while towing a trailer. We purchased a Cody Cushion air ride hitch from a vender on this site. It slides into the B&W hitch. Love it so much, it just gets moved from truck to truck.

Had not thought of that! Will ck into a Cody Cushion. Have a B &W Hitch, so this will work. Funny tho', I never noticed previous trailer bouncing, but this one is 6 ft longer and a lot lighter! Thanks for the idea!!

Ok..now which one is better...the Cody Cushion Coupler or the CC 2 Popup Cushion Coupler. A little difference in price, but wondering which is better for the money.

Do you know for sure a cushion coupler will correct your problem ??

Long story as short as possible. . .same trailer mfg, different brand, 2004 3 horse LQ. Have had it for about 6 years. This past Memorial Day on the way back from riding have to take 1 mile of interstate. Durng acceleration the truck and trailer doing what would have been a great video for the Jerry Lee Lewis song Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On. Got home, unhitched trailer and went back to drive same part of interstate to try to re-create problem or determine if it might be bad u-joint on 2006 Ford 250. Take truck to my mechanics next day, drop drive shaft, look at everything underneath. Things are fine. This eliminates any problems with truck. Take a close look at trailer and see that front tire on right hand side isn't touching the ground. It's about an inch off. Call Dexter Axle. Great customer service. They say axle may be bent. Gave instructions how to determine. Hook up next day and take to mechanics, one of whom is a very experienced with trailers. When I get there all tires setting on ground. (Tires balanced a few weeks previous and brakes, wheels, etc cheked at that time.)They check everything, mechanic and I drive truck and trailer all over both at law-breaking fast and turtle slow speeds. can't re-create problem. Consensus (and only a wild a$$ guess) is that one of the hard rubber tunes in torsion axle got twisted. The problem is that if there is anything wrong with a torsion axle they can never be repaired.

Yeah..tire pressure on both truck and trailer good. Taking truck in to get suspension checked, awhile back they said rear shocks would need work sometime in future...guess that time could be now. I am going to hook trailer to friend's truck and see if same problem with bouncing...there's is newer than mine. Also trailer going into shop to get all checked over. Guess that is the thing with buying used privately...never know for sure. Hopefully no big problem!!Thanks for all your suggestions! This site is so helpful!
