We are struggling trying to find the actual weight of a 2005 S/D 8013+2 3 Horse trailer. Our F350 is rated at 15900 towing with 4010 cargo carrying capacity. Is this trailer to heavy for a 2011 F350 SRW 6.7l ??

You dont really state what the trailer is. 05 Sundowner, correct? 3 horse slant? Is it a full LQ, weekender, dressing room only??? What length is the short wall?

Lots of opinions here I bet. My opinion only. 18750 sounds a bit much for a SRW truck. Our horse trailer is a 7' Short wall, but with one more slant stall. Don't know exactly what it weighs, but it's considerably less than what I pull on our flatbed. We also pull a 35' 5th wheeler RV that also weighs more than the horse trailer. I have legally maxed truck/trailer weights with our flatbed which is about what you are estimating for your trailer. About 15 years ago I had to go to a DRW for stability / safety. The SRW was getting a bit squirrelly especially when braking. The DRW brought it under control, and gave an added measure of safety with the extra tires. As far as pulling 18750 - probably can. But keeping it under control - marginal at best - in my opinion.

We found out the trailer weighs about 12,200. So that leaves us with only 3,700 lbs- for horses, water, fuel, feed, food (no ramen allowed) and tack, in order remain under the trucks rating of 15,900. We would be a nervous wreck trying to be safe for the horses.

Your gross combined weight rating is somewhere around 23000#... Your truck will probably weigh in at 8500# or better empty? Figure that trailer weight with three horses and a weeks worth of STUFF... It adds up in a hurry!!!

Sounds like too much trailer for your truck. Our trailer weights 12,000 pounds empty and we pull it with a GMC 4500. Loaded the pin weight is 5,500 pounds and my GCVW is close to 29,000 pounds.

YES, sure would not do that unless you had dual wheels on the ground in the rear....  Mine is only an 8010 model 3 horse and I would not even try it with a single wheel truck. my trailer empty before anything is added is 9300lbs.
