I need help.  My Hart 3 horse slant trailer was damaged in a bad Oklahoma 3-4" hail storm.  It leaked in the dressing room and in the horse trailer.  We show and keep all our tack clean and saddles in bags.  The tack got wet and wasn't noticed until days later, since the house was damaged, that being the worst issue.  Obviously mold grew on wet warm trailer tack and on items water didn't touch hanging up.  I need something showing that even though a leak can't be seen easily on a roof obviously a seam was cracked and thus the storm caused the leak ....and the insurance should pay.  It is the tack being cleaned and restored that is my main concern that is in question with the insurance.  Anyone that can find a trailer site that talks about leaks from storms would greatly be appreciated so I can print and show to the non-trailer-knowledgable adjuster ... would be most appreciated!  (Also,... the adjuster said...it's just tack, it gets wet anyway. what's the problem)   Uggggh!

Maybe ask the insurance company to send someone out that is familiar at least with RV's?  That's what our insurance company did last year when we had a tornado in our area.   The tack is actually part of your homeowners claim anyway--  under personal property

It depends on YOUR insurance policy and which riders you elected to have...

You should ask your agent will your home owners policy cover your damaged tack

In the past, I have contacted the adjuster with additional damage and they added it to the claim. Assuming your trailer policy includes contents there won't be any problem. The other avenue as mentioned earlier is to cover the contents under your homeowners. Again it depends on how the policy is written. Personally I have a separate writer for my tack. Good luck! jg

Well... it's just another item on a long list that I will have to debate with them. I'm trying every avenue to avoid getting an attorney. It's ridiculous what an insurance will try to avoid.
