I have just had a water tank, 12 v water pump, 6 gal. electric water heater and sink installed in my small LQ. Can anyone tell me why there is a horrid sulfur smell and taste to the water. I haven't turned on the water heater. There is also an outside spigot which comes off the water line before the water heater. The horses won't drink the water.
I had all of this installed by a "professional" RV shop, but they have been difficult with my questions. I guess after the thousands of $$ I've spent with them, they can't follow through with the customer service. So I'm turning to my friends at HTW!
I would like to install an under cabinet water filter, but am not certain it will correct the problem. Have any of you experienced this?

you can go to Walmart, to the RV section and purchase for around $20 a water filter that connects to your hose before the water goes into your trailer. Perhaps that may help. Also adding vinegar to their water at home, they can get used to it, and you can add it on the road too. Good luck

You didn't mention the source of your water but our well in Gonzales has a fair amount of sulfur smell, when we fill the tank which has a small vent, the sulfur smell/taste diminishes quite a bit overnight. When we hook up to the well we just deal with it. For taste you would be looking for a carbon filter.

I just had this problem. It's whatever water you have used to fill the tank with. You have to drain it. Even if you haven't used the water heater some water maybe trapped in there. Drain the water heater. You can put a small amount of bleach in your main tank, don't overdo it, it can corrode the pipes, run fresh water through.

This ... You're used to the house water taste. So use your house water to flush the system. Remember to open all the taps to flush the system completely. There may be some plastic taste at first, but that will fade.
