Hi everyone! Second post of the week (sorry)!! I recently had a horse sit on his butt bar while on the road and stripped the bar screw holes in the wall (ripped the screws out, but they are not damaged at all). I tried screwing them back in but now the screws don't hold and rattle right out while driving. Anyone know a fix for this or should I head to the dealer for repairs? I would seriously just super glue it, but that doesn't seem like it would hold another monster warmblood sitting on the bar.... Grateful for any advice!

The simplest fix is to drill and tap the holes for the next size larger bolts. This is a DIY job, but if you're not able, any mechanic can do it for you.

A second repair is to liberally coat the threads of the stripped screws with JB weld and reinsert them into the holes. The epoxy will set up in about 5 minutes and be strong overnight.

I would replace the screws with nuts and bolts they will be much stronger just make that the will not stick out and cut the horses. Carriage bolts normally work well for this if only one side is facing the horse, like on the outside wall. if it is between two horses you will need to be more creative with fasteners
