Hi all, spring is springing and I'm ready to head out with the horses, but first I need new tires for my trailer. Current tires are 7.5 x 16 LT, how do I know what size in the new required ST tires to put on the trailer? Last time I put tires on my trailer it was before the new ST rated tires. So it's a little confusing to me as the numbering is different. It is a 3 horse, gooseneck, small LQ, GVWR 12,000. Thanks!

The ST tires are not required, and are a step down in quality and function from the interchangeable LT tires. 16" LT tires are widely available in your stated sizes as well as many other sidewall profile combinations. You will want to purchase an "E" range tire and run it at 80 PSI. Purchase a set from many American manufactures and you will enjoy a reliable, long lasting ownership.

Thank you!! I currently have load range E and run 80 psi, the more research I did the more concerned I became because of the lesser psi and also the sizes don't transfer exactly from the LT's to the ST's. Glad to know it's not mandatory. I'll just stick with my load range E LT's and head on down the road, these tires that I am replacing have been awesome,it's just that they're 8 years old and summer driving deserves a fresh sidewall.
