How often do you wash the exterior of your trailer? I know this is likely subject to the part of the country where you live and other factors like hauling in winter. I didn't have a chance to wash my trailer (on the outside) all season, and I'm now wondering if I really need to wash it before it gets stored for winter or if it's OK to do it in the spring. The inside gets thoroughly cleaned each fall, including mats pulled and scrubbed - I just haven't gotten around to the outside yet! Thanks!

Outside gets a wash quarterly, truck stop wash every other time, wax once a year. Inside gets cleaned after every show.....  2006 4 Star looks like it's a year old.

It's probably not that much of a biggie, but,I've just got a thing about putting my trailer up for the season without washing it first. For some reason when spring rolls back around and we get ready to use it,I'm too darn busy to take care of it by that time!

Those that have been very dirty for a long time do not seem to clean up as well as those that have been washed from time to time. I believe I'd go ahead and bite the bullet and wash it before it sits all winter dirty.

Putting a trailer away for the winter with it being dirty is like having a LQ with only one sink and going to bed without taking a bath...!! LOL!!

I use mine year round, So it never sits for extended periods. It doesn't get used as much in the winter as the summer. But it still gets used.

I give it a good cleaning each spring to clean out what ever dirt accumulated during the winter months. Vacuum out the horse hair from the tack room, pull the matts and throughly wash out the interior of the horse compartment etc. Usually clean and wax up all the tack while it's out of the trailer.

I do the same mid summer and again in the fall after the hunting season. Fall I make sure to pull all canned food or liquids ( fly spray, medical sprays etc) so they don't freeze in the trailer.  I do leave some dry goods in the trailer all winter. I truely believe I need some survival food in the trailer incase I get stuck somewhere in the winter.

In between that I try to keep the exterior rinsed off anytime I get into mud or after trips on snowy roads that have been salted.  Since I use the trailer weekly, I just don't have the time to wash it every week. Three goo cleanings a year and a few rinse offs in between that is it.
