I've checked the exterior of the sliding windows on my Exiss, and they have caulking (maybe silicone) at the top. which appears to be in good condition.  However, when I look at the windows from inside, I can see tiny slots that have allowed moisture to run down on the inside of the glass.  These slots are uniform and part of the window construction.  I want to seal them, but I'm afraid they are there for a purpose.  Can anyone tell me what these slots are for?  Should I caulk around the entire window, or leave the bottom clear for drainage?

Also, I've checked the exterior seams on my painted aluminum panels.  The caulking (?) along the seams seems to be fine.  Is that something that needs to be removed and replaced regardless of how it looks?

As always, thanks for your input!

The slots are designed to allow water to drain from the bottom channel of the frame. The frame is designed with slots on the top and bottom so that one window will work on both sides of the trailer. The top slot should be plugged with a thin-long plug. If you need to chaulk it make sure use a small amount. The window slides past the slot. For the water inside, my guess it is come in through the slot over the window.jg

In most cases the is installed with double sided tape and if the seam looks good don't mess with it.

Justgurn,

Thanks for the information.  Regarding the windows, do you know if I can purchase replacement 'plugs' for the top slots and if so, where?

Ah ha!  They're called 'weep holes'!  Surely I can find replacement weep hole covers somewhere on the Internet.
