I'm buying a new(to me) trailer and think I've found "the one". The only thing it doesn't have is walk through doors from the LQ to the horse area. Has anyone ever added walk through doors? Thanks for any input!

We added a door between our dressing room and horse compartment. We found a door at a RV & trailer surplus store, which was much less expensive than ordering one from a trailer manufacturer.

I know this has been discussed before, but I still would like to add one in mine, too and appreciate any new takes on it.Wonder if there is an RV surplus near me...My question would be how do you know where the braces in the wall are?

WHen I bought my trailer the trailer sales place wanted $1,200 to put a pass thru door in. That seemed steep to me. I had one added to my trailer (about 8 years ago) and it came out great. Bought the RV door (with screen) off the internet. Cost like $100 and another $100 to ship. Had my carpenter person install it and he did a great job and only charged me something like $250 to do it. His biggest worry was cutting the aluminum wall, but he did fine. Get one with a screen because it really is convenient for airflow on those hot summer evenings.

I agree with the option of having a screen in the door. That could be nice for more airflow. Prices will vary. Go to your blacksmith/body shop and bring some pictures and ask them what they could do for you. You might be suprised at how much you can save and still have a quality finished product. $500.00 range.
