Those that have ecco-temp waterheaters, how do you supply pressure and can these be gravity fed? I want a cowboy type shower in my hunting-rough country trailer.

I use a diaphram pump from Northern Tool.  Gravity feed is not practical.  It has a flow switch that requires 1.0 gpm.  Besides, a gravity shower is not very satisfying.  My set-up is very satisfying after a long sweaty or bone chilling ride.

That is what I want to purchase as well. ( Eccotemp) I am going to take my trailer to Camping World. They said that they would install a water pump for me. I have a 48 gallon hay-rack tank on top of trailer that I want to run a pipe from, through the wall side of the trailer and into the back of the horse-trailer (last stall) so I will have a cowboy shower. I want to have a pump installed so that I can run the eccotemp with it. (for water pressure) I want mine installed in the last stall so that the hose will reach out the back so that I can also rinse the horses down with warm water after a ride. That and I want a fridge in the GN area. I have the "I wants" bad right now!

Hi there. There are two popular choices available. Triton Camp Chef or Eccotemp L5. Both are very reliable, practical and easy to use. Each are capable of water temps of 150 degrees F if desired. I have a couple minute video of mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM2Iu9N0Z-0&sns=em See it work before you buy one. A 12 volt pump can be used to pump water.

Funny! The first night i read this post about water heaters, I had looked up all I could on you-tube and saw your video! Also saw a video that showed some one using a water pump with 12-volt battery. ( Use without a pressurized water hose.)

I would not mount one of these water heaters inside the trailer as there is a carbon monoxide discharge from the burner.  We have our heater mounted to a hand cart so that we can roll it around the barn and other sites as needed.

I would have Camping World do the install. I have two windows on every wall of the horse trailer compartment. With all these open, would this not be enough to let out the exhaust of the eccotemp? Or would i need a special exhaust system?

I use mine in the horse area.  I find the main problem to be moisture from the shower rather than CO.  I'm not at all concerned about CO since a shower doesn't last hours and the person using it, is active and awake.  Sleeping in the area with an operating Eccotemp is another situation.  An open window and roof vent seem to help the moisture problem.

Thanks- that's what I was thinking. It would be fine in the horse compartment with all the windows open while in use.
