Why does the engine brake light come and the bells go off when we drive our 2004 truck within a few miles? We have to stop and turn the truck off and then turn it back on. The truck will be fine untill we stop for awhile like at a show... Then we just get started down the road and the dumb truck does it again!! Some places it's kinda hard to stop say like in large cities..

Subject: LB7, LLY 6.6L Duramax® Diesel Engine -- Low Engine Power/Performance, Poor Acceleration, Exhaust Smoke/Hissing Noise, MIL/SES On, DTCs P0101, P0236 (Install Updated Engine Exhaust Brake Valve)

Models: 2003-2005 Chevrolet Kodiak C4500-C5500 Series

Some customers may comment on low engine power/performance or an MIL/SES light on. Any of the following conditions may also be noted:
• Poor Acceleration
• DTC P0101- Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Performance
• DTC P0236-Boost Pressure Sensor Signal is below predicted range
• Exhaust Brake always on
• Excessive exhaust smoke

The engine exhaust brake valve shaft may corrode, causing the valve to stick open or close.
