Looking at two 3H GN 2006 trailers so far: which one is the better deal (they are both less than 200miles away)?1)06 Logan XTR for $13,750 (private party posted yesterday)http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=339641pros-Cheaper-drop downs on both sides-Logan dealers are relatively close bycons-stalls might not be big enough (more on the subject below)-steel frame (not coated like the new Logans)2)06 Silverlite Warmblood $16,888 (Dealer: on the lot for months so price could be lower)http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=337750pros-Wmbld sizing-hayrack (don't care for it now, but later on might be good)-rv battery-6 roof ventscons-more expensive-Silverlite is out of businessWe will be using it to mostly bring around a close to 18h shire & 1700lbs (6yrs old) (hence the 7'6" tall req, both satisfy that) and a 16'1 1100lbs(8yrs) Appendix QH. In the Logan the draft will most likely be in the last stall since it's bigger, while the Silverlite should be able to accommodate the shire in all 3. We also have a 3rd horse (15.2 QH) that ounce healthy will join the group on short trips (Cattle sorting, team penning, obstacle courses). This trailer will just be an in between step until we get a 4H GN to haul our future kids horses(2) around (maybe 6-7years from now). We were looking at 4H as well, but there are not that many around that are 7'6" tall and custom made one from Logan would be $24-26K+.Thanks

I have a 2006 Logan XTR in a 4H GN. It has been a great trailer.
My biggest problem was that I hit something on the road and bent the axles and ruined some tires. But that would have happened with any make of trailer.
Logan has been great to send me any parts that I have needed. I just call the parts manager at the plant and the parts are in the mail the next day. As far as replacement parts. I have replaced the latch assembly on the drop windows on two of my 8 windows. I had a horse break off one of my outside tie rings and it needed to be replaced. One of my switches for the load lights went bad, Probably just needed a good cleaning, But since I removed it, I put in a new switch rather than mess with the old one. The rack that hold my two batteries broke and needed to be replaced. But I'm not sure that was installed by Logan, but we cut that off and installed a heavier duty rack.
My XTR has the Whiz Proof floor and I think that is great. I pull the mats twice a year and flush out the trailer. The Aluminum Planks sprayed with the Vortex coating don't show any wear at all.
My partitions seem to be plenty strong, I'm not sure what you are refering to as being "flimsy". My 16 h geldings lean on it and it stays in place.
Logans have all their windows drop open, So you get great ventilation in the summer.
I'm sure there are Pro's and Cons to any make of trailer, But I've been happy with my Logan and I drag it down some pretty rough forest service roads.

We just got a new 2011 Logan 4H PB and there is nothing flimsy about it. I too ordered the Whiz proof floor and it just runs right through it. The dividers are good and strong and this trailer is put together well. The buying experience sucked but it was due to the local dealership and not Logan themselves. Logan bent over backwards to help us get what we wanted. LOVE Logans! Hope you enjoy which ever you choose. Ride safe!!!!

Ended up getting the Silverite (got some disocunt as well)Our Shire fits well in the 50" wide stalls, and it the future if he goes in the very first stall we can squeeze 3 horses after him (wife horse and 2 kids horses).Trailer sits a little nose high, but we are already maxed out out on the coupler adjustment: any ideas on the cost of raising the trailer by a few inches?

How high is "trailer sits a little nose up"? 1" 2" 3"...? You may want to block your axles a couple inches to lift the rear of the trailer... Search on the "trailer talk" forum, for the past 360 days, the term, block axles.

maybe a few inches: thanks for the tipI'll measure the diff between front and back when we hook up on Thursday
You may want to measure with it loaded. The load may weigh down the front of the trailer a bit. If it's only an inch or so high, I would let it go. If it's 3 or 4 inches high, it may overload or bend that rear axle, then tire blowouts will become a common occurrence....

There are scales that will weigh by the axle. You could load up and run across one of those scales and see how much difference you have on each axle and if they are still with in their ratings. If you are still with in your tire and axe ratings, a few pounds difference won't be a big deal. A thousand pounds difference is something to consider making changes.
Around here you can get your axles blocked for around $500-$600.
