We are looking at a 2000 Featherlite 9407 (double doors and ramp) straight load. The trailer is in great shape but we are concerned that the center post between the back doors cannot be moved. If we want to use the trailer for anything else or have a horse that doesn't load well this could be a problem.
Does anyone know if it would be possible to make the post removable? I think it is essential for closing the doors so it would have to be easy to get in and out.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my post!

Welcome to HTW..!! Your local machine and or welding shop should be able to make the post removeable. You would have to reinstall the center post to latch the doors, unless, you added cam latches instead of the factory door latches. The cam latches would run the machine shop bill up though.

I have that model. The center post between the doors comes out in seconds. My horse hates it as a straight load, so I took the divider out and let him stand however he wants. He chose to stand backwards. Go figure.
