I've heard that a family dispute over an estate has left the trails in Eminence from CCTR a mess.  Does anyone know anything about this?

We rode there last year in October and alot of the river alongside the campgrounds was off limits to cross into. Had to ride out quite a way to be able to cross and trails that you were used to using would just stop because of it. Haven't been there yet this year to know if still the same, but it was a pain and limited the trails. Lot of grumbling at camp over it.
Heard the family dispute rumor as well, but also wonder if it isn't river pollution related since that has been a hot topic on other boards. Too much manure in the river is causing problems and contamination. Reason they also changed their bedding restrictions to just pellets and all manure must be piled in the concrete bunkers now. Trying to comply with the DNR etc..which of course they should.

We have been to Eminence this year.  I still have plenty to say about the campground being crappy, but man you just cant beat the riding, the views and the beautiful river.  The family dispute is being resolved little by little. The trails out the backside of camp are all back open.  Out the front gate you still have to go down the gravel road and to the ball field area to get on Granny Smith.  Much improvement over last fall when more of the trails were closed off.  I keep telling myself this will be my last time as i said last fall, but as you can see we have already been back this year.

We just returned from the 2011 Labor Day Ride. We were very disappointed. A few of the trails are still off limits, and we had to knock down weeds that were waist high in front of our stalls. For what we had to pay the campground should have been in better shape. It was very disappointing.

For access to the latest information on the river water condition,go to Topix/Eminence and you'll see it somewhere on that LOOOOONG topic "jacks fork and Current Rivers." There is a man on there that has posted the latest data link. That's not the only reason for water contamination and according to the latest study,it is people, not horses.
