I'm not that familiar with Sundowner other than some "not-so-pleasant" stuff I heard a few years ago, however, I see a lot of them on the market. I found one that would suit my needs about 5 hrs away, so I wanted to see if anyone has any feed back. This is a head to head style trailer. Thanks!!!

I would definitely take a good look at the axels for flaking type rust. Also, I would get the vin# and call sundowner in oklahoma and find out just what materials were used in its construction. They did have an issue a few years back with some of their models--do your homework.
We had an 01 Sundowner--all aluminum. It was a great trailer--just too honkin big-- so we sold it!

Ok, what would you chose and why?All 3 trailers 4h head to head, all have stud walls to divide the center isle from the horse area (creats 3 box stalls if u just take out dividers, no moving the partitions etc).2000 Sundowner, 15,000 guy says it needs work before he will sell it, but was very honest about that and said the dealership will go over the breaks, axles, bearings, etc, before selling. No tack room, just "calf gate" to keep stuff from flying out of the goose/tongue secrtion.2007 Sundowner, 24,900 looks to be in good condition, has a tack room, have not heard back from dealer yet.2010 Shadow, 25,900, has a 3'4" short wall, insulated ceiling and fans. Doesn't look like it has been used, just a year old on lot. Same stud devider features, and weighs in at 4800lbs (I think). (I really like this trailer in theory).Obviously the 10k price difference between them is a big factor :( I dont know how much "bargaining room" is in the trailer world, and the Shadow is quite far away... .y uses: a trailer to keep for a VERY long time/be an investment. I hual young horses that aren't the most "trailer broke" but sensible, nd mares with foals. Also only plan to haul 6-10 times a year, trailer will be stored inside 90% of the time if not more... What do you guys advise? I haven't bought a trailer in YEARS.

Yes it is the florida trailer. I don't know about warranty, haven't actually talked to the dealer yet, will on Monday. I've never heard of a shadow so it makes me leary. But, I haven't bought a trailer in about 10 years and haven't "looked" at any in a while. I usually go to congress and EA but usually I look at brands I know. I am in ohio.
