I am interested in finding out if I can safely tow a 2 horse gooseneck with a weekender/dressing room with a 2000 Toyota Tundra half ton truck.  The truck is 4 wheel drive and has a V8.  The trailers that I'm intereested in weigh between 3300 and 3600 lbs.  I believe my truck's towing capacity is 6700 lbs.  Thank you for any info.

I'd go get that trailer weighed first. I'd be surprised to see it weigh that little.

An empty 2h GN trailer might ony weigh 3600lbs.  But add the weekender and 2 horse , I'll bet you are 7000 lbs or 8000 lbs

Bottom line is I'm sure you will exceed the pin weight for a Toyota with that trailer

First I would make sure it is a gooseneck with a weekender/dressing room!  Because someone has the weight figure WAY OFF!

I just sold a 2002 4 STAR 2 horse with a 2' short wall tack room, NO weekender package and it had stock sides nothing fancy and it was a little over 4-k lbs.  Just guessing a trailer with a weekender/dressing room is more than likely going to have a 4'SW I would guess it to be closer to 5-k lb. or more range and this is with very little in the package.

You need to take the trailer to a truck stop and weigh it by itself and DO not take the word of the seller!

I would venture a guess that the weight of the trailer could vary dramatically depending the make and what's in the "weekender/dressing room". We had a 3 horse gooseneck, with dressing room (4" short wall) that was right around 4500 lbs empty.

I'm not saying the poster should or shouldn't use it. But I'd definitely find out the true weight of that trailer before making any decisions. Will you be hauling 1 or 2 horses? Small horses, big horses? Filling the dressing room to the brim with stuff or not so much? Are you going to be carrying water too? All that weight starts to add up quick.

Does the truck have a towing package?
