Well, finally got a decent rain since buying my 2006 Sundowner Sunlite a little over a month ago. Discovered that the seams are cracked on the roof. What is the best way to repair? Is the Eternabond aluminum tape worth the cost? Or should I use a good caulking material? Thanks!

I had mine taped many years ago; have never had a leak. I'd say yes.

Mine did the same thing when it arrived. All the roof caulking was cracked.  I read info on this forum scraped off all the old caulking and re-caulked the whole thing. It's now dry as can be. Good Luck!

Thanks! I put a huge tarp over the trailer last evening, and it has rained A LOT overnight. I have been working on the LQ since I bought it, and it was frustrating to see the water running down the cedar walls! I spent yesterday sewing curtains and fortunately I was out there to find the water coming in and was able to get the trailer covered to prevent more damage! If I opt for the Eternabond, do you scrape the old caulk off before applying?

Whether you use tape, caulking or elastomeric remedies, the surface should be a clean as possible and free of any loose or cracked caulking materials.
