This is for information for those with GMC 4WD trucks. I had bought some michelin tires for it a couple years ago and over time, my nice quiet tires started to make this loud noise. I hadn't driven the truck for a few months and when I did, the tire noise was obvious!!!

My hub took the truck into the shop for some service and the mechanic said, I took the truck out for its check and I noticed the loud noise coming from your truck.. like tire noise.. and it is the hub starting to go!!! Well, we were driving a 1000 mile round trip to NC from OH, and didn't want a hub going out.. so we had it replaced.

Noise gone, tires quiet.

FYI for you, if your previously quiet tires start getting noisy!! Oh, when I would turn the wheel, such as going around a bend, the noise would abate some.
