So if you found a nice trailer and it had a dinette and you wanted a sofa how hard would it be to change?

It depends on size and what is under the dinette seats. My dinette has the fresh water tanks under the benches. My sofa is a few inches longer and  has 3 huge storage drawers that pull out.

It could be a huge job, depending on how wide the dinette area is. The sofa's, assuming you're talking about a jacknife style come in some varying widths. 60", 72", 74"....there may be others, but I don't think you'll find under 60". Just google jacknife sofa, or e-bay. You could run into some other issues, like a fresh water tank under one of the dinette seats, water pump, furnace....all that needs to be considered.

not sure if that will help you or not...i too have a water tank under one bench and the electric box under the other.  when i had new wood floors put in, the benches were easy enough to remove.  to kill 2 birds...i had the 6'w? dinette converted into a u-shaped dinette that doubles as a "sofa".  we took the big table off and stored it in case we ever want to change it back - my husband made a smaller table (half the size) and a removeable bench seat - new cushions and coordinating fabric = equals a dinette/ sofa combo where we can still eat, work off the table, or one person can sit on the back part to watch tv - keeping the bed area made!  it also makes for handy boot storage under the bench part.  i will try to post photos.
