We keep the trailer plugged into electric all the time so I am baffled as to why the test showed the battery charge is low.  Just bought trailer this summer and batteries supposedly were new; one battery has a sticker on it stating 3/09.  They are energizer batteries.  I looked at them and they don't appear to take water.  Nothing should be drawing down the power on the battery if I am plugged in all the time--yes?

Dependant upon what charger / converter / Inverter you have it may not be a 3 stage charger i.e. Bulk, Absorb and Float. If batteries are continually charging at anything over float voltage you can cook them to death, that is just as bad as going below 10V in a 12V system.

Without knowing more that may be your issue. If you supply more info I would be glad to help. Info what voltage is the system, size and amp hour of batteries, what charger etc

Thanks.  Straight from the manual:  It is an IOTA DLS series power converter/charger.  I 'll have to get the model number.

On the 12 volt batteries,  i discovered that they are the kind that require water!  They were not dry  but maybe a little low.  So I added distilled water to them.  Now waiting to see if converter will charge up the batteries.  I just spoke with an Iota tech person and he gave me some trouble-shooting tips.  So here I go to try them out.
