Did a search and found that some of you have used one. I bought one a while ago just to do dishes etc. Now thinking of using it with a shower. 1. Do you think it will put out enough water? 2. I bought the little hose sprayer attachment but its short. What do I use to make it long enough to reach for an overhead shower? Am I missing something? If I install a shower, where do you get the shower pans from? Thanks in advance.

It really depends on where you are putting the shower when it comes to the pan you use. If you are putting it in the LQ on the slant wall, Jazzsales.com sells a pan that fits that angle and works well. As for making the hose reach, use pex pipe to run the water up to the shower head from the temperature knob. then thread your hose on.

We had one of those for years. I bought a small plastic tub at the dollar store(still have it). I stood in the tub, wet down, soaped up and then rinsed off. Took the tub of water(didn't take much) and threw it out the back into the woods. Very efficent and easy. I used the tub to pack up items in the trailer.

It won't spray out like your home shower. I use mine in the back of my horse trailer, no pan just let run out the back. I also set mine on a small "tv tray" table when using. That way the hose is long enough, and you get a little more pressure if it sits off the ground. I also use mine coming off a hose from a water storage tank in rear tack with a 12 volt pump (surflow), and the "hose adapter" option. I've never tried the storage container thing with pump that it came with. I imagine the 12 volt surflow pump pumps harder than the coleman pump and container, but am just guessing.

Thanks for the replies. Jas can you describe your pump system a little more for me? where is the pump installed in relation to the water tank. The horse runs from the pump to the Coleman HW right? Sorry...sometimes I need light bulb moments.

Water tank sits behind my saddle rack in rear tack. 1st hose goes from water tank to pump. Pump mounted to the wall, and wire run to deep cycle battery stored in front of trailer. 2nd hose comes out of the pump and runs to the coleman hot water on demand hose connection adapter.
I also just leave a hose spray nosal on the end of the hose, (that runs to coleman) when not using the coleman. It works just like a like an outside faucet at your house, just not as much pressure.

ok, so I bought the x-40 outfitters camp shower. I cannot get the temperature where I want it. It is either too hot or cold. There is no in-between. So what do I do now? I have read and followed instructions. I run out of water by the time I almost find the right temp. Also, there is no way to shut water off when soaping up, unless you turn the whole thing off and then have to re-start all over again, once again not being able to get the right temp. Directions say that water must be going thru the pump at all times when igniter and propane burner are going. So, how do I make this work???

Jackbrat-- I would run the heater into a 5 gal bucket untill I get the water to the right temp. Turn off the propane and just use the pump to take a shower. That way you could turn it off and on as needed. At least untill the bucket gets dry.

Thanks Terri and Turfa. Sounds easy enough. I just need to find a way to make the set-up fast and easy. Setting things up to be convienent and within reach while showering.
